Virginia A. Hustead, MDDr. Hustead was born in Michigan. After graduating from Michigan State University, she attended the University of Michigan Medical School. Dr. Hustead completed her general pediatrics training at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City and her neonatology training at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. She has a special interest in extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and is the director of this program at Children’s Hospitals and Clinics, Minneapolis. Other special interests include congenital diaphragmatic hernia, apnea and follow-up of very-low-birth-weight infants. She is married and one of her two daughters is a neonatal nurse.
