Nathaniel R. Payne, MDDr. Payne was reared in Jacksonville, Florida, before attending college and medical school at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He completed both his pediatrics residency and neonatology fellowship at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Payne also completed a fellowship in infectious disease. He is lead physician for the NICU’s participation in the Vermont Oxford Network-sponsored Neonatal Intensive Care Quality Collaborative. This collaborative includes other hospitals from across the country and seeks to improve the outcomes of NICU care. Dr. Payne’s special interests are infections in newborns and the care of very-low-birth-weight infants.
