Clinical Services

With more than 300 years of combined experience, Minnesota Neonatal Physicians, P.A., provides highly specialized, family centered care to newborns and their families. Since 1979, our practice has provided
24-hour, in-house coverage for critically ill infants at the Minneapolis campus of Children’s Hospitals and Clinics, and at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, as well as Level 2 services and consultations at numerous regional hospitals.

We provide the full range of neonatal medical and consultative services including:

• Consultations before birth with families whose pregnancy has been complicated by a diagnosis of birth defects, multiple gestation, or probable preterm delivery
• Attendance at medium to high-risk deliveries
• Transport services for ill newborn infants
• Newborn care for at-risk and ill babies
• Conventional and high-frequency ventilator care
• ECMO
• Inhaled Nitric Oxide therapy
• Complete surgical services, including open-heart cardiovascular surgery (in cooperation with our surgical colleagues)
• Subspecialty medical consultations
• Long-term pulmonary care
• Telephone consultations with other physicians
• Consultative and management services to hospitals’ perinatal programs
• Support for other health professionals’ continuous safety/quality improvement programs
• Educational presentations for health care providers, insurers, health care administrators and parent/patient support groups
